Have decided to be very honest with my blog, putting both negative and positive experiences on here. I truly believe this will help me to reflect thoroughly in my personal development.

Earlier today was meant to be an important moment on my learning journey. I believed I had registered for my first introductory skype session with the distant learning course. As mentioned in previous post, my IT skills are in their ‘developing’ stages. In short, I missed the session. This was and still is a major upset for me. I needed this event to help me feel settled and give me the confidence to start well on the course.

I panicked, and immediately felt lost on the course. I wondered what I had missed, and what my next steps should be. Then I realised why we have to blog our journey. I looked up other students on the course, and read their blogs. After reading many blogs I was able to gain an insight in to the session, they gave me a lot of good advice and guidance for the programme. Although I am saddened I was not able to talk to the supervisors or other students first hand, I’d like to thank those that wrote about the skype.

The blogs gave me themes I researched further, such as the academic calendar which is referenced in the handbook. Furthermore, highlighting how I need to balance my work commitments to allow me to make time for my studies.

In addition, I was directed to the course handbook. This was an interesting read which explained the learning outcomes and tasks along the way. I felt over whelmed at the start of my adventure today, but with the module handbook beside me, I felt more confident. I will read the hand book again and make some notes before I go to bed.

In conclusion, I feel very resilient. I believe I can complete the course and over come any obstacles by using my skills kit and looking at my fellow bloggers for advice and help. Reflection has been strangely satisfying.
