Module 2, Session 2
I was once
again relieved to hear other student’s questions regarding Module 2. The main
theme for this session was research.
Adesloa,
informed us that Module 2 is present to help us learn how to research design
and not so much on about the topic. She stated, there were three types of research.
These are as follows:
Mapping:
Looking across and understanding the main aspects of an artist or disclosure,
thus giving a good overall
understanding of the topic.
Evident
findings: where you are using research you have found to show a trend that is
happening.
Suggestion:
Where you offer a suggestion, change, or solution to help the development of
research findings.
We were
going to be focusing on ‘mapping’ for this module.
There
were some great discussion in the session. I particularly liked ‘going on
holiday to France’. This discussion’s main theme was if you travel to your hotel
in France, and plan the whole journey in advance your experience will be limited,
but if you to not tightly plan your journey explore your surrounds you would
have a richer experience. This I found very useful to my enquiry.
In addition,
we were told to refer to our module 1 Diagram, to help us look for area of weaknesses
in our practice. To identify something in our practice, we wanted to know more
about. Once we have completed this, we should do the cycle of ethical
considerations and ethical procedures to help develop our work further.
